Jags Lead All Players in the State Final 8 Competition

Madison Central players Britney Bonney and Will Artmann were the top performers in the MHSAA Final 8 bowling competition which concluded the high school bowling season.  Britney and Will were the highest scorers for their respective girls and boys divisions against players from the final remaining eight teams.

First year starter and 9th grader Britney had struggled late in the regular season but she moved to a higher level and she was stellar in post-season.  Britney threw three strikes late in the final game of  Regional play to key a comeback win for Madison Central  to defend  their Central Region Championship.   While Britney started Final 8 competition very well she still trailed other players until late in the day.  Britney was relentless in firing strikes and spares over and over to finally take the lead late in the day as she averaged 179 for the competition.

For senior player Will Artmann, the chase was more dramatic.  A slow start kept Will in the hunter mode all day.  Will chipped away at the leaders but he still trailed midway through the last game.  However Will drilled six straight strikes late and finally overtook Anthony Porciello of Petal in the last frame of the last game.  Will averaged 219 for the competition.

The MC Bowling team scored 44 All Sports Award points, the highest in program history.
